How soon after u deliver will u let family visit?

My hospital does a thing called the miracle hour where as soon as the baby is born, they put the baby on your chest for skin to skin contact and kick everyone out of the room except for one person (which will be my husband) for at least an hour to allow bonding and the start of nursing. So, family will have to wait at least an hour and I appreciate that.

My in laws apparently have plans to be here when we have the baby and stay and help, but my husband will be letting them know that the him, baby and I will need at least a couple weeks to ourselves first!!! They are coming from out of state also.
I think it's important to have time together as a new family to get to know each other and establish routines etc. before anyone comes to visit and help.

I had my first while I was asleep. So my mom,  my husband and his mom were in the room ( it was just supposed to be my husband and mom). So as soon as the nurse picked my daughter up my mil ran out to tell her family! Which is fine but they gave me about an hour to get stitched up and clean the baby up and they came in to the delivery room and stayed for 3 HOURS. That will not happen again! Me aren't telling anyone when we go to the hospital except having someone to stay home with my daughter and they won't be coming until I am actually ready to have visitors. Once baby and I have time to start nursing. And they def won't be staying for 3 hours

Well to start the only people we are telling when I go into labor are my parents, my sister, his mom and his brother. Everyone else will be told after he is born. After we get our time in with the baby and feel comfortable enough for visitors is when they can come. His family can be a bit obnoxious most of the time and it's really something I don't want to deal with while in labor. We decided that would be best for us.

I need sometime I think. After having one already I know I want to enjoy the baby first before everyone comes, took a long time and effort to make. I get first dibs :)

DD1 will be there right after last push but other than that everybody can wait an hour or two.

My sister in-law got on the first plane when we were headed to the hospital. Although I was greatful that she came she stayed at the hospital the entire time and I was so uncomfortable I even starts to get upset with my husband bc I just felt I didn't have any privacy and everytime I had nurse I asked her to step out. UGH!! This time I have already told my husband for anyone that comes to visit no over night stays at the hospital and few hours max. I understand family and friends are excited but we had way to much activity during the time we should be bonding and resting. In a perfect world I really need at least a week at home with no company. Just to get settled

I'm just hoping that I get to hold my baby within the first couple of hours this time.

My first was an emergency c-section & my son whisked off to NICU. After I was out of recovery, the nurses 'forgot' to take me to see my baby & I ended up straight at my room. Other than seeing him as he was wheeled out of the room, all I had was a polaroid photo of my son for the first 13hrs of his life.

Well the only family that I have is my mother and sisters, and I am planning to have them in the room. They live about 45miles away so they plan to go back home that same day. My MIL will be coming from Mexico, and most likely she will be babysitting our 4 year old while I am at the hospital. But our friends are from church so we will tell them a week after we get home. With my first, I had visitors non stop. I stank, I did not sleep so I ended up passing out on one visitor.. Then came home, and more visitors. House was a mess!!! Husband and I  were exhausted! Baby couldnt really sleep with everyone holding him. So yeah... I ain't telling after we áre all set.

We are waiting 2 weeks to allow visitors.  I know that sounds extreme, but it's what we need to bond as a family.  DH has paternity leave so we'll be just fine without people flying in from different states while baby is trying to develop his immune system.
