SMOKING CIGARETTES?

How in the world does a mother smoke cigarettes there whole pregnancy? It's nasty and can be  really harmful for you & the baby!

For people that don't smoke it is hard for you to understand how people can pick up a cigarette in the first place let alone smoke when pregnant. Well I smoked and I know it sounds bad but I loved to smoke! Going outside, reading a book and smoking. It was relaxing. Can't tell you why, it just was.  It is very hard for some people to just stop. For me it wasn't once I wanted a baby. But for some people it is very hard. It becomes a habit just like brushing your teeth and drive a car. It becomes apart of your daily. Wake up. Drink coffee and smoke a cigarette. I'm not saying it's ok to smoke when your pregnant but I know it can be very hard for some people to just stop. And for those of you that say if you quit smoking your baby will live. That is not true! It helps but you can be the healthiest person ( eating right, not smoking, exercising) and your baby may not make it. So for those of you that don't smoke and have nasty things to say, back off. And for the people that are smoking, do your best to stop . I know it can be hard but you can do it one step at a time!

Some people don't have the will power to stop smoking. There are bad side effects when you quit on top of you are miserable. Yes I agree its bad for the baby and not fair, and selfish. But its not your baby its not your body. So why don't we all just mind our business, worry about your own bodies and babies. And stop starting drama and shit talking. I assure you, mothers that smoke have a lot of guilt about it. So just lay off.

My friend's Dr. Told her that quitting cold turkey can actually be harmful for the baby due to the stress the body goes through while withdrawing. That being said, I was a smoker when I found out I was pregnant, but the sheer guilt I felt overpowered any craving I had and I quit immediately. Not everyone is that lucky to be able to do that, though.

I smoke cigarettes... My doctor had talked to me about it cause I tried to do cold turkey but can't as I told my doctor I get the nastiest migraines ever if I don't smoke and I asked her what would you do if you were in my situation and she said that's easy smoke a cigarette (she has never smoked in her life). Everyone is different wen they are pregnant. Don't judge another person cause you don't know what they are going through. We mothers are hard on ourselves everyday. No one needs judge and make things harder.

Because it's an addiction. It isn't easy to quit even if you know you have a baby inside you that you want to be healthy. I know plenty of people that smoked throughout their pregnancy and their kids are perfectly fine.

I know it's difficult to understand, but everyone is different. I tried for a year and couldn't get pregnant. By that time I was at two packs a day. I quit cold turkey, but had severe anxiety attacks and ended up miscarrying. I'm not saying it's because I quit but it's always a possibility. I got pregnant relatively quickly and It took me eight weeks to completely quit. It's hard and it may take others longer . I was lucky and it made me nauseous. I do not judge anyone.

All of you are acting like our babies aren't important to us or we don't care about our child. Our child is important to us but we have an addiction. Some can quit cold turkey and some can't. Damn.

Depending on how much you smoked previous to your pregnancy your doctor may tell you to slow down but continue so the baby won't be harmed.

I quit no problem. Once I  had someone's health other then my own to think about smoking wasn't even something I have thought about. I know it could be hard but it's worth it!
