Can rough sex cause your period to be early?

So my boyfriend is on the bigger side...and the other day we had some pretty rough sex in which I’m pretty sure he went as deep as he could. Over the last few days I started spotting (and no, there’s no way I’m pregnant 😌), I thought he might have just knocked my cervix and I was getting a bit of blood.

My period is due in 4 days, and it seems like it came yesterday. I’ve also got some PMS symptoms (boobs are sore, fatigued etc) so I guess this begs the question - can sex cause your period to come EARLY? I know it can help when you’re late, but I never knew it could make it come early?
