Have you gotten pregnant on the Mini Pill?

I’m still breastfeeding and taking the mini pill (progesterone only). I read that it’s the LEAST effective birth control 😳 Share your experience please!!

I am currently on the mini pill, and have been for almost 3 years now, and I haven’t gotten pregnant once on it. It does depend on the person though. If you are not responsible in taking the pill (setting an alarm, forgetting pills at home, leaving it out in the cold/hot weather), then obviously you will fall pregnant while on it. I have never been told that it is the least effective. I’m on it because of my own personal health, and the fact that estrogen can cause blood clots for my certain health problem.

The mini pill is less effective than the combination pill but it is still more effective than condoms. My doctor told me that it is reliable birth control when combined with exclusive breastfeeding, although like all birth control it isn’t 100% effective. With the mini pill it is really important to take it at exactly the same time every day to maximize effectiveness. 
I however opted for the Liletta IUD for two reasons. It is one of the most effective birth control methods. And I don’t have to remember to take a pill each day.

No, I’ve never used the mini pill because I heard it was less effective. I want to avoid taking hormones when I can start on birth control again (2 weeks postpartum now), so I’m opting for the paragard copper iud. I had a great experience with the Mireya iud, but when we started TTC, it took so long for my hormones to balance out - I’d been using hormonal birth control for more than 10 years, and I don’t want to do that again. I’m also breastfeeding abs don’t want to negatively affect my supply.
