How many days do you stay in the hospital? For example if you give birth naturally on a Thursday morning, would they let you go Friday morning? or is it typically longer? just curious. ftm here

mine is only 24hrs unless something went wrong with you or baby.

I was able to stay 2 days. Had the option to go home the next day but since I had birth close to midnight, they didn’t count it as a day and plus my insurance covers a few days when it’s a vaginal birth

I gave birth friday night and left sunday morning. they generally keep you at least 24 hours, but in my case I had to stay until sunday morning because they werent going to discharge me at 10pm.

I think it depends on your insurance and the hospital. Mine does 2 days vaginal delivery, 3 days c section.
I went in around 6:20 am on Monday and had my son that night. We were discharged on Wednesday around 11:30 am.

I had two natural births. First time I gave birth on Saturday and went home Tuesday. Second time I gave birth on Thursday evening and went home Friday afternoon. I had to come back to the hospital on Sunday for the baby to have a hearing and blood test though.

My insurance and hospital allows two nights. My daughter was born at almost 10pm and I didn’t get into a room until about 1am, but that still counted as one night.

If you search your hospitals OBGYN department it will usually tell you in the FAQ section things like how long you will stay and when visiting hours are.  It depends where you go, but mine makes you stay 48hrs.

I gave birth on Wednesday 1pm and was discharged on Friday 7pm. I was so swollen from delivery no one wanted to remove my catheter until the swelling had gone down a little. Other than that baby and I were physically fine. You just never know with birth!
