This morning I went for my 3 hr gtt and after I chugged the drink, I was surprised to see it only had 75g glucola not 100g like what is standard so I asked if I was only the doing the 2 hr and the nurse said no it was per my lab protocol so I then asked for the test code. Needless to say after being halfway through the test my lab verified that the test code the nurse was running was for regular glucose tolerance and not for gestational which does require drinking the 100g glucola and they gave me the correct test codes for the nurse to order which at that point was too late since I drank the wrong glucola🤬 the np that was present in the office didn’t want to stop the test since I was already halfway through and said if my results were even 1 point over normal, I’d have to repeat it again with the 100g glucola. No apologies whatsoever were said rather major attitude was given by the nurses

and now I’m going to question my results either way since their plan was to still run it as a true 3 hr gtt but with me only drinking 75g!!

I should also mention I absolutely hate getting stuck with needles. Has anyone else had a similar experience with their 3 hr gtt?
