depressed husband
my husband has a long history of depression. he grew up with a drug & alcohol addict as a mother, was homeless at the age of 16 for a while, & had an overall terrible growing up. he has these periods where he is depressed, but hasn't had one for over a year. I noticed in the last week he's just been unmotivated, tired all the time, & making vague statements basically about being invaluable & not good for anything. he's overall, a general man who has to be asked & reminded to do even small things that I think would be a no brainer, for example, remembering to take the garbage out on garbage day. he refuses to take medicine (everything he's tried in the past he stops taking), went to one counseling session & didn't think it helped, & has trouble talking to anyone about his feelings including friends. he talks the most to me & I know it's not everything. I'm now 30 weeks pregnant & don't know how to fix it or how to deal with that on top of everything else I'm going through. has anyone else had this experience & any suggestions? I talk to my mom about it & she just gets all mad & tells me that he needs to grow up. but he can't help that he feels this way.
