Ovulation test

I took my last pill May 25 and AF started on the 28. I took an opk( I use cleablie digital) and it told me I was low on day 10 and peak on day 11. It took AF 35 days to show up on July 2. I tested again on day 10 with the opk and it said low and then peak on day 11. My gyn told me that the kit might be faulty because it takes on average four months to start ovulating after coming off birth control. Should I try this month? My calendar said my fertile window just started, but my opk said it was last week, and my Gyn said to have sex every other day on days 11-18. What days do I follow? I'm so confused!
