Fenugreek for breast milk production?

Has anyone had any experience with taking this and does it really help? I’m almost a week pp and I’m exclusively pumping for my son because he won’t latch to save his life but I’ve noticed I don’t make a lot of milk. I’m not sure if I need fenugreek or if a steady milk supply just takes some time. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried a nipple shield? My daughter wouldn’t latch without for 3 months. But it helped boost my supply. I also pumped every 2 hours (even at night) and drank Mother’s milk tea which has fenugreek. I tried having raw fenugreek but it wasn’t my thing. Also hydrate hydrate hydrate!

Water water water for sure and raw almonds and oatmeal are a some good natural ways to help increase breast milk production without using supplements. Because your only 1 week pp your body hasn’t regulated how much breast milk is produced yet. It may help to continue trying to latch your baby more often throughout the day and pump right after. I don’t know about fenugreek but I do know my newborn wouldn’t latch either until about 2 weeks pp. So keep trying to latch!  Also- when you pump try massaging your breasts (like pushing from the back towards the front- linda pushing the milk out).

Fenugreek can actually make supply worse for some people. At one week pp, your body is just getting started with regulating your supply.  I would just keep pumping every time baby eats. You could do skin to skin contact. There are things you can use besides fenugreek to help with supply. But i wouldnt use anything like that so early on.
