metformin question???

I have been on metformin for a week now and started with only 1 pills twice a day and I'm waiting on my AF to start clomid, however I am suppose to start taking metformin 2 pills twice a day but I am still having an upset stomach and diarrhea and I am taking it with food. Does anyone have any suggestions to help ease the stomach pains??

I took Metformin for PCOS for 2 1/2 months, symptoms never stopped. I had upset stomach with diarrhea and vomiting.
on a positive note we concieved in the 2 months!

If it doesn't improve soon ask your dr about the extended release ones, they tend to be gentler on the stomach.

It is that way for around 2 weeks... always take it with food. If I took it before food or a little while after eating I always had problems.

Give it at least 3 weeks, if you have call your doctor and tell him/ her.

I take it at night before bed and I never feel a thing.  By morning just a nice BM without upset stomach.

My dr started me on them last year for pcos symptoms and for ttc however I could never get over the stomach issues EVER it was horrible!

Isn't metformin a diabetic pill? My mom used to take it and Dr took her off this medication.may I ask what this pill dies with ttc.

I take 3 pills all at the same time with dinner and I try to eat healthier it helps with my stomach but if I eat something bad my stomach will hurt
