why does it hurt so much when my bf calls himself ugly? I try so hard to respect his decision but when he says that I feel like a bad gf, my heart breaks and my mood spiral downwards at a incredibly fast speed

I feel the same way when my bf does that. I feel like in some way im failing him because he doesn't like the amazing. and beautiful person that he is. if he starts talking like that then just tell him that he's not ugly and tell him something you love about the way he looks and acts. if he is feeling so bad that he doesn't really want to be around people then give him some space but make sure he knows you aren't avoiding him. bring him drinks and little snacks here and there or ask if he wants to watch a a show or something with you every once in a  while. that's what works with my bf if  he is feeling bad. i hope this helps. i hate seeing him like that and i hope it gets better for you guys too❤
