Anyone still smoking?

Question

Any mommas who are 20 weeks still smoking? 
Doctor and I talked and she said that itd be best if I don’t quit. She said it would put too much stress on baby. 
I have slowed down quite a bit. But any healthy pregnancies while smoking?

My SIL smoked through her twins pregnancy. She did with her older son too. All the kids have asthma and tons of health issues.

Wow you’re midwife sounds like a nice person.. mine told me that every time I lite a ciggy I was putting a fag in my new born babies mouth.
I was a chain smoker, I loved smoking and struggled to quit at first.. but I did it 😊
I went from 15 a day to 2 a day and 
I am now a non smoker and have been for 3 weeks, I don’t even think about them anymore and hate the smell.
If I can do it anyone can.. just tell yourself that every parent has to make sacrifices.

My sister-in-law smoked throughout her pregnancy with my younger niece and while she is here and mostly healthy, she has very severe allergies and asthma. My sister-in-law didn’t smoke with my older niece and she doesn’t have those problems. My cousin smoked throughout her pregnancy and her daughter was born with a heart defect which later required surgical correction - she is now a happy healthy 14 year old. All this to say, of course you can smoke while pregnant and your baby might arrive into this world mostly fine or maybe you’ll get super lucky and baby will have no issues at all. You just never know.

I quit right before I got preggo. I had IVF so before my procedure I quit. It was soooooo hard, but I ate lots of popsicles! I would eat a box a day. I don’t have cravings anymore...they stopped about 12 weeks. I also haven’t gained any weight. Even if it’s one cig less a day you’re making progress. Good luck momma!

I quit within 2 weeks of being pregnant with my first, started smoking again when I stopped breastfeeding and my daughter was 6 months old- with this pregnancy was easier to quit and I hope to not start smoking again- you can do it 👍 good luck!!!

I am 20 weeks 5 days. I still smoke. I quit in the beginning, and did just fine... until my literally new husband (not even married a week) cheated on me. I picked up a cig and thought just one to calm me down. I regret that every single day, because it was sooo enjoyable and I started craving them. I want so badly to quit, and I know it’s far from healthy for my baby. And trust me, I feel HORRIBLE! But it’s hard to “just quit” when it turns into a craving. I need to focus on slowing down, and quitting because I’ve done enough to give her possible health issues this far, as of now she is completely healthy. BUT I do not what that to change now or ever! The dr told me the same thing “quitting can cause the baby stress” but I believe as long as we slowly taper off, we are tapering the babies as well. So it won’t be such a drastic  change , like quitting cold turkey ! And reading these comments actually pushes me to start now! I am thankful for this post!!! I hope any other moms are able to quit as well! Prayers are welcome for me and my baby, I would absolutely love it! And I’ll pray for other moms as well!

They can mom shame me as much as they want but i still smoke 2 cigarettes a day. I went from a pack a day to this. I’ve slowly been cutting down and i hope to completely quit by my 6th month I’m 20 weeks now & not pick the habit back up again
