Is miscarriage more common if you get pregnant right away?

I just found out on Thursday that I am pregnant! I am almost 4 weeks along. This is our first time trying and it worked immediately and I am too scared to really admit that it’s true. I keep seeing people post that they had miscarriages after their first pregnancy and first time trying and it’s freaking me out. Is that a common thing or just coincidence?Is this a legitimate fear? I’m having some cramping today so it’s freaking me out.

Miscarriage, unfortunately, is just common. 1 in 4 pregnancies. And it doesn’t make a difference how quickly you got pregnant. It’s just more common than people realize.

It’s just coincidence. Miscarriages are caused most commonly because of problems within the egg/sperm or development problems with the baby. The majority of the time it has nothing to do with the parents or environment factors, or how long you’ve been trying. Some people are just really fertile and get the timing right the first time! Like you! Some just take longer. Ever persons body is different.

Just try to limit caffeine until your in your third trimester. A number of miscarriages can be attributed to dietary mistakes. That's not to say eating a certain way will prevent one, but eating healthy can't hurt you or the baby.

Miscarriages can happen at any number pregnancy. None is more likely than another, unless you have a medical condition that could be considered bad/dangerous for pregnancy..
I had cramping until about 7 weeks along. Im now 27 with a baby boy.

cramping is normal and there is no way to tell if your chances of miscarriage are higher as long as you don't have severe cramping with heavy bright red bleeding then you're most likely fine. even light spotting in early pregnancy is normal

Thank you all! You’ve made me feel better. My sister had a miscarriage with her first pregnancy so I think I’m overly worried. But I do know that it is quite common. My doctor told me 1 in 5. Fingers crossed this sticks. It’s hard to believe it’s real!
