Self-cleaning ovens while pregnant??

Is this safe?! I turned it off after an hour but the plastic burning smell was terrible. I didn't use any chemicals but apparently it's TEFLON. It's a new oven so I'm so worried

That is scary and sad. Thank God I don't have a pet bird. So scary.. How would people know!?! I wonder what it is about birds but not any other types of small pets.

I think you guys might be over thinking this.  Never heard of such a thing. Can't be afraid of every single thing

When my mom used to clean our oven we had to take our pet bird to the other side of the house closed in a room with windows open because it could kill them. I would say it's probably not safe while pregnant but I really don't know.

I wouldn't. It results in some pretty harsh fumes that are strong enough to kill pet birds, so it must be bad.
