I’m not planning on it. My employers don’t know that yet, of course. I’ll probably tell them two weeks before I’m due back so they can find a replacement.

I’d probably go back. You miss a lot in a year. Go back, get your feet wet and start re learning your skills. Get comfortable until you find a new job. Nothing like being out of the game for a year and starting over at a new job. Get yourself reacquainted first before starting something new.

Lucky you have a whole year! We’re lucky if we get 12 weeks at half pay in the US. I never went back to my job after having my daughters. I couldn’t leave them at only 3 months old. I gave my letter of resignation a few days before I was due back to work with my second daughter. I’m fortunate enough to be able to stay home with my babies though.

I'm considering taking at least 6 months to a year off from work. I'm getting tired of the competitiveness in sales and might look for something else. I only get 12 weeks maternity leave and NO pay so I might just quit after baby is born. I don't see 3 months being a good time to leave my baby when there is still so much bonding to be done.

I intend to find a new job when I go back next year. My old job requires an hour commute each way and it’s just not feasible.

My job pays me for 16 weeks of maternity leave. When I return the first 8 weeks will be 50% part time (20 hrs a week). I’ll then go back to full time. I also work from home do that helps
