Activities for 1 year old party?

My son is almost a year old. I want to have the party at home but my husband wants to rent somewhere because he doesn’t want a ton of people at our house. So my concern is keeping these little kids occupied. Anyone have any ideas how to keep kids 3 and under occupied?

Have it at your house and put out some toys. Easy peasy. Save some money. I don’t think any child remembers their 1st birthday anyways...

We rented a bubble machine! It was awesome, the kids were all entertained!

If it’s a summer birthday then buy a couple of little water guns and about two kiddie pools! You can have little water toys in the pool also!

Bubbles if outdoors.  Building blocks, a gated area with toys inside, etc.

We did my daughters first birthday party at a park. Her birthday is July 26th so I regret it! because it was so hot! But the kids loved it! So if your sons birthday isn't in the heat of Summer time! a park is a great idea or at your house and have a little sand box and a few toys! The kids will enjoy that!
