today was the big day.. meet the future mother in law. she is a Russian woman who was torn from her home by Nazis during the cold war (according to her). so I knew she was a tough lady going into this.. for weeks I have studied what to do, bring, how to act and speak to Russian mother in law's... I even learned some phrases in Russian to help make it smooth.. I showed up with my son who my fiance told me to bring.. he had a big bunch of flowers for her. but when we arrived she hid in her room.. my fiance went to get her, they yelled a lot of Russian and he came out upset. she came out screaming at him and when my son tried giving her the flowers she held her hands up and backed away from him saying I won't accept these, I'm not your mother.. I will not accept anything from you. my fiance got upset said some more Russian and she stormed out of the house... has anyone ever had something happen like that before? did it work out in the end? I'm so heartbroken. she never gave me a chance to make any impression. what do I do? he's not going to want to pick between us as she has told him he has to. but also doesn't want his family to abandon him for marrying me. help
