A lot of women put on anywhere from 5-10lb. but if you dont want a baby right now or to gain a bunch of weight 5-10 is better than 25-30

if that was the case, u would think that I would gain something for the 22 years I took them. but nope. I have been 97- 100 lbs my entire life. I'm 35 with a 2 year old, BACK ON BIRTH CONTROL PILLS and still 100 lbs.

I gained 25lbs & it took a while to come off but eventually it did after I stopped taking them. They also affected my mental health & made me physically sick.

my doctor told me that birth control doesn’t make you fat anymore because when birth control first became a thing doctors would just prescribe a really high dose of hormones to guarantee effectiveness because they didn’t know much about it and that would cause weight gain. now doctors can prescribe a lower dose that is still effective and doesn’t effect your weight

Since I’ve started on the patch five years ago, I’ve steadily gained 25 pounds. This also has to do with the sedentary lifestyle I adopted in those same five years (I got injured my last season in high school, then I went to a college without a lot of sports, and then because of my work/class/friends load I didn’t have the time). However, I was considerably underweight before I started the patch (missing periods regularly due to low fat count) and I am now at a healthy weight. Odds are that your weight may change (I have friends that LOST weight by going on birth control) because of the related hormones, but as long as you remain in a healthy-ish range, you should be fine.

i lost 40 lbs when i began birth control. i also don’t know anyone personally who has gained weight.

The first pill I was on I gained weight. The second one I actually lost weight. I would’ve stayed with that one, but it was a really low dose pill and skipping periods was a common side effect. And well I bloat like crazy when I’m about to start my period and so skipping periods resulted in me being very bloated for months at a time. 
But the same two brands of the pill that I was on I know people that have had zero side effects. Every pill effects different women differently.

I mean depends of your body, what works for my body may not work for yours, go to a specialist and depends of your needs they will recommend something for your body, I used to take bc pills for long time but they make me feel angry very easy so yeah your taking hormones of course bc pills will have side effects, just be ready with the ones that may work for you, btw you don’t see the side effects after the 3 or 4 month so just keep that in mind
