I hope you can stick with me on this, because it may end up long and confusing.

In short, my sons father and I have been together just over 3 years. Our son will be 2 in August and since I was about 4 months pregnant, we started fighting a lot. Things would get better and then the same fights would start. Over time, the fights have changed, but it has been so constant I can't take it anymore.

1) He is 33 and I'm 24 and he seems to have no ambition or drive to do anything.

2) He takes care of our son, but not at the things that are important like our sons speech therapy, OT therapy, or even brushing his teeth.

3) He's let himself go and also doesn't think he does anything wrong.

4) Regularly drives without a license (gone because of past drug use and unpaid fines).

5) I'm only making $200 a month but every penny I get supports our son - he makes $750 due to disability and we live with my parents. He gives them rent, but never has money after that because hes always in debt with his dad.

In conclusion, I want to leave him. I'm so unbelievably miserable, but if I do, I dont want him to just take our son to spite me because he can. We have no custody agreement or anything and if I break up with him, I have a feeling he'd take him and I truly dont think he can adequately take care of him. He can sleep right through our son waking up, leaves medicine (BC powder) layin around where he can get it and can't even get him to sleep...
