Getting somewhere

I’ll be 23 in two weeks and I feel like I’m finally moving forward in life (besides having a kid).

I’ll be getting my car officially in my name this week, since it’s been in my dads name for the last 5 years. It’s already all paid off, was when we bought it, so all I’ll be paying is insurance.

I’ll be getting my own insurance next year when I get married, since my dad pays the big family plan and told me to just stay on his (family of 6). I’ll be getting the same last name as my babies and then I’ll officially be on my own insurance.

I know to a lot of people that seems like nothing new. Some people are still shocked I’m on my dads insurance plan instead of getting my own when I first got pregnant. I tried, but I had to have a lot of paperwork that I didn’t have in my apartment (citizenship stuff) since I was adopted from outside the US. I even told them I tried to sign up for Medicaid and they told me not to worry about it and to just stay on theirs.

I’ll finally be on my “own” even though I’ve been moved out for a year now.
