Heartbeat/ultrasound?

What week does your doctor want you to make the first heartbeat/ultrasound appointment?

I'm booked for 8 weeks on the day.  I'm going crazy!  I just want the peace if mind of knowing this baby is healthy!  Counting down the days til July 31!

Mine is August 14th and according to my calculations (I haven't been given an official due date yet) I'll be almost 9 weeks.

I am with a fertility specialist and I had one at 5w6d and saw a tiny baby and heartbeat. I have my second tomorrow  (8w) to make sure it is growing and the heartbeat is getting faster. If you are with a regular OB you may not get one until about 8.
