Bug bite on my 9 month old? Hospital?

My mom suggested I take him to the hospital. It's been there since yesterday AM and hasn't gotten better, maybe slightly redder/bigger. Is the ER an overreaction? What should I do?

If it doesn’t seem to bother him, don’t stress. If it’s just a bug bite it should go away in a few days on its own. If you’re worried, call your pediatrician. But I wouldn’t go to the hospital unless there was an allergic reaction.

I’d put benedryl cream on it. (Per my Drs orders since my baby was under a year). Unfortunately when my babe gets bit they get huge and last like a week. If baby doesn’t have fever, fussy, it’s spreading, etc I wouldn’t worry too much.
