Bouncer vs. Swing?

What’s the difference between the two? Would you recommend getting both?

I have a 2 n 1. the seat comes off into a bouncer!

My son had a bouncer and a rock and play (not quite a swing, but close enough).  The bouncer hardly ever got used but he loved the rock and play and swing at daycare.  If you are only able to get one, I would suggest starting with the swing.

Lol reading these comments it is clear it depends on the baby!
My ranking is:
1. Rock n play. Lifesaver for newborn months when you’re all worn out.., be sure to get the AUTO rock n play. 
2. Bouncer has been endless fun, so far 3-6 months.
3. Swing. I’ve only used it a handful of times. My baby is mostly content in the bouncer or playing with his kick and play (GREAT toy for cheap!), but in the rare instance he is very fussy and I HAVE to get something done, the swing will give me twenty mins hands free.

I had a bouncer, a swing, and a rock&play.; My son only liked the bouncer. Wait till you baby comes and see if they like to rock, swing, or bounce, and buy accordingly.

Bouncers are a great place to put your LO while cooking or in the shower. We had a cheap Fisher Price one that vibrated and my son loved it. They’re more portable than a swing.
Swings, on the other hand, can be beasts but they’re so wonderful if you have the space! We had a Fisher Price Snuggapuppy swing and it was the only place my son would nap for the first 3 months. He always slept fine in his crib at night, but he had to be in the swing during the day. I loved having both, but the swing was definitely my favorite.

the seat on my swing is detachable and doubles as a bouncer.  2 in one!

My first daughter didn’t care for the bouncer and loved the swing. This time I use both and a rock and play. She naps in the swing downstairs, sleeps in the rock and play in our room upstairs, and I put her in the bouncer while I take a shower or cook dinner. 
I’d recommend getting a swing if nothing else, we have the fisher price cradle n’ swing

Bouncers if they’re laying down are fine but where they are upright and bouncing isn’t good for their leg and hip development
