Weird discoloration and rough patch on both hands, same spot. 31 1/2w pregnant... Any ideas?

I have the exact same thing on one of my thumbs! I noticed it about 31 weeks into my pregnancy also. I went to the dermatologist and she wasn't exactly sure what it was but gave me a topical steroid cream that is safe during pregnancy to put on it twice a day. I haven't been very faithful with it but it's definitely better than it was. I'm thinking it will go away on its own.

They are called liver spots, normal w aging and coming in pregnancy. when the sun hits the skin with out sun screen it makes the pigmentation in certain areas to pop out more. I got a few in the same area in my left hand w this pregnancy, my first pregnancy and I'm 23.
