Natural or c-section?

Question

I want to know more about why women choose to do a c-section instead of natural birthing. Or why they want natural. Also want to know pros and cons of them both!

I dont know any women who chose their c section for no reason, it was for theirs and their babies health. My daughter was born via c section because I wasn't progressing during labor. I opted for a scheduled c section this pregnancy as opposed to VBAC. I think it's in mine and my baby's best interest.

I opted for a c section vs a VBAC. my children will be 9 years apart.  my son was an emergency c section for his safety, he was stuck in the birth canal and heart rate dropped to 50. not a big baby, 6.5 and 21.5" long. just happened. He spent a week in the NICU. I don't even want to risk that with baby #2. My emergency c section was not bad, I took tylenol only after, staples out 5 days later. My doc has told me my scheduled c section will be even easier and is going to try to get me out of the hospital on day #2. (I spent 2 weeks in with #1 because of other issues unrelated to birth). I'm 100% comfortable with a c section again, wasn't even a question about it. I've seen what my sister went thru with her vaginal births, significantly worse and much longer healing for her. everyone's story will be different.

Most Drs won’t do a csection unless it’s medically necessary. My friend only had a csection because she wanted to get her tubes tied and because she has the herpes virus.

I wanted to to a natural birth non Medicated I was in labor 16 hours and had only dilated to 1 and was in a lot of pain and got a c-section because my cervix would not open I really wanted a natural birth just isn’t possible for me. But my c-section turned out to be a good thing because the cord was around my sons neck. As far as the healing process I was out of the hospital in two days I am a quick healer but the pain was not that bad I only took pain medicine once when I got home and that was from the car ride. With my little Girl I am having because of my last turning out like it did I have to have another c-section but honestly if my baby gets here safe and healthy I don’t care. I don’t know of anyone that has wanted a c-section at first I think like me it just works out that way.

idk why you would choose to have a c section that wasn't medically necessary. I would imagine the pain of healing and length of healing is much much greater. I don't see that as a plus! c section mom's are strong ladies!  I gave birth unmedicated vaginally, I got up to use the bathroom by myself, I had minimal tearing, like 2 little 1st degrees and I really wasn't in THAT much pain.i never took pain medication.  things went back to normal pretty quickly down there too. i intend on another unmedicated vaginal birth and hopefully it'll go well then too.

I had to have a csection because my baby was breech, this time I am hoping for a vaginal birth just because I want to know what it feels to actually give birth!

My son was born two years ago via c section after 41 hours of labor (27 without pain medication). My doctor said I was a great candidate for VBAC, but I experienced enough the first time. We’re doing a scheduled c section for our second and a full Fallopian tube removal so i don’t get pregnant ever again. We’re removing instead of just tying because my mom passed from Ovarian cancer in May and there are lots of studies that have found that ovarian cancer originates in the tubes.

I want to have natural labor because I want to have the fewest unnecessary side affects for baby and me. If we need something medical, we do and we will be okay (and that is why I still go to a hospital), but we are created with the ability to do this. It is intense and there is pain, but it has a huge reward!!!

I had to have a c section after being induced for natural labor and having 7 hours of nothing but hip and back pain. 😔 but I preferred that way anyway so I guess it worked out in my favor.

This will be my 3rd c section. I had my first because I don’t dilate.
