How are you getting ultrasounds already??

Question

I went to the gp to get my pregnancy confirmed all they did was ask when the first day of my last period was and took my urine. I scheduled an appt for OB but I’ll be 9 weeks by time they see me I’m currently 6W5d. I wanted a scan to just to make sure here’s only one and to give me a more accurate due date.
Are you ladies asking for them or is your doctors automatically giving them to you?

Most of the time you only get them early if you have had miscarriages in the past, are high risk, or went through a fertility specialist to get pregnant.

In the UK you usually don't get them until 12 weeks but as I had IVF I get an early one at 7/8 weeks.

I have my first ultrasound today! I'm 8 weeks 1 day. with my daughter I didn't have one until 9 weeks. my OB doesn't do them until at least 8 weeks because if you do then earlier sometimes you can't see much even if everything is fine.

I had my first at 5w3d and go for my next tomorrow, 6w1d. Ive had an ectopic with tube removal and 2 chemicals so I’m considered high risk and they need to make sure there is nothing in my left tube and that everything is progressing properly.

3 weeks from tomorrow is my first scan. I'll be 9 weeks and a few days. I'm dying to go in sooner, but there's no reason to justify pushing my appointment up. So I'm trying to be patient. and NOT anxious. which is a struggle. this is my 2nd baby, my first is perfectly healthy, no issues during pregnancy. yet I cant shake this stupid anxiety

My doc doesn’t do them until you’re 8-10 weeks. I’ll be 9+1 when i get mine

you can go to most planned parenthood  clinic to confirm a pregnancy  ...tge onky way tgey can acutally confirm is by U/S .. So they do a blood hcg and urine then u/s...not alot of ppl no it and think its onky for abortion  services. ..

I feel you girl my fiancé has a genetic disorder which means the baby can be born with defects such as half a brain and heart and many other problems and I was told that I wouldn’t be getting a ultrasound until 12 weeks unless the midwife has time at my 8 weeks and has the equipment. I hate that everyone around me that are first time mothers are getting a 6 week scan. I was told most people only have a ultrasound if they didn’t know their last period or if they had a recent miscarriage xxx
