Where will your baby sleep & why?

Question

Trying to settle a debate with my husband as to where is best for baby to sleep for the first few weeks at least.

Please tell me the pros & cons - first time mummy and don't know what to do 😣

I have a Moses basket which will be next to our bed. Ideally I'd like her in our room for at least 6 months!!

Will be having a bedside crib. Hopefully I'll be able to breastfeed and having Pickle right next to me seems easier and a less stressful way to feed during the night. Plus I can keep my beady eye on him

In our room until she's 6 months old. We rented a Bednest and it's perfect. I can slide her into the bed to breastfeed, don't even have to get up! I can see her through the mesh side and touch her to reassure her.

The NHS and World Health Organisation recommend babies sleep in their parents' room for the first six months. It helps regulate baby's breathing and leads to better and more sleep for mommy, especially if breastfeeding. You don't worry as much and it's easier to fall back asleep after feeds.

Our baby is 5wks. He sleeps in a Moses basket right beside our bed so I can hear him cry/comfort him and check he's ok. We have a cot bed in his nursery next door but he's so tiny,, we probably won't put him in there until he's much bigger. Ive already bought a baby monitor with a camera (night vision) for when we do move him into his own room so I can keep an eye on him.

In our bedroom with us or in the spare room with me (hubby is 6"4 and doesn't fit in our spare bed!) if baby isn't sleeping well and hubby is working the next day.
