Flexible careers?

Question

Hey guys. What jobs do you have that you can work from home sometimes if needed OR are flexible? 
I’m 19, currently in college and I’m not sure what I want to major in. The things I enjoy are-technology, writing, biology and I also like managing (I’m an assistant manager currently) 
I do know I want a job that is flexible in the future because I do want kids. My mom was an ICU RN and I feel like I rarely saw her growing up, and I just want a job that I will be able to spend time with my family, go on vacations, etc. but still be able to make fairly decent paychecks. 
Are there even jobs like this?? Or is my head in the clouds?? 😂

I work from home as a medical coder. I have some flexibility like I can choose when to begin my 8-hour shift but it has to be somewhere between 5am and 9am and I use my lunch breaks to do chores and run errands. But my kid is still required to go to daycare per company policy (and I wouldn’t want him here anyway). My best friend works from home too, she’s in IT, and she has basically the same flexibility that I have in terms of choosing her hours, but she also wouldn’t be allowed to work with a kid (also wouldn’t want to).

I’m in tech sales and can work from home whenever but it took busting my ass and working very hard for several years before I got to this point.. and I travel all the time for work which gets old after awhile

I work for the government and my position allows telework if you perform above your standard. You have to have a masters to apply. And it takes about 2 years to be eligible to work from home. 
I too looked for work at home jobs and found they are usually low paying, call center work (amazon). I think the more education you have, the more you work in your career field, then opportunity to work at home will increase. I was 38 when I finally made this step in my career!

I work at a hotel and when I had my son I cut back to part time. I only had certain times I could work and they’ve been flexible with my schedule the past two years. I think I just got really lucky because a lot of places are not like that. I can also take off pretty much whenever I want for vacation as long as I give enough notice and if I ever have to call off or leave early because my son is sick or something they’ve never given me a hard time

I got my certification in professional pet grooming. I took an online course and they teamed me up with a grooming shop for an internship at the end for hands on practice. I love it because i can easily groom from my home and i have a travel dryer and table if i need to go to someone elses home. I pick my own schedule and it will allow me to work at home when my LO gets here.
