Nexplanon Bar Implant Opinions??

Question

Hi everyone! I’m in need of a good form of birth control, as condoms have given my boyfriend & I a few scares lately (rips,etc). 
My question is...who has gotten the bar implant in their arm (Nexplanon) & what are your opinions about it?? I have a doctors appointment in a few days to discuss what to get (pills, bar, IUD, etc) but I think I’m leaning more towards the bar...?

I had so many problems with mine it moved and mine snapped so i had to have it removed earlier then the 3 years

I had the Nexplanon implant. As far as birth control, it was effective and nice to not have to remember something. Getting it put in made my arm sore for a couple of days. I had the unfortunate side affect of breakthrough bleeding every time I had sex or worked out. As I was doing one or both of those basically every day I bled constantly, so I ended up switching to the Skyla IUD. My OB said that was really rare for it to be that bad.

I haven't had any problems with mine other than a little bit of weight gain. Granted I don't have the healthiest diet because I am a pastry chef so most of my time at work is consuming sugar. So not quite sure I can pin point it to the implant it's self.

I love mine. I haven’t had any issues with it. It’s very easy as I don’t have to do anything at all. I had some random bleeding the first few months and then nothing at all. I’ve had it for two years.

I have this. I never have to think about birth control, and that’s great! The only side effect I’m experiencing is reduced periods, which I like. I went a whole year without having periods, and now I only have them some months. I’m really liking it, and I plan on getting another one when this one’s done.
