Abortion pill?

Please no judging but could someone explain the abortion pill to me please? 
E.g how many weeks is too many? What's the process? What will happen to my body?

I had the surgical abortion about a year ago. I was able to have the pill or medical abortion but i chose not too because i hear it can be very painful lots of cramping heavy bleeding nausea. Now that's not everyone but thats what my friend who chose that way told me. I think the cut off is eight weeks but im not 100% sure on thay

You have until the 9th week to take the abortion pill, further on it'd have to be a medical procedure

The pill is not 100% effective in expelling everything from the uterus. You need to know that their is a slim chance you might end up having to have a surgical as well.

I took the pill at 9 weeks. they first gave me a pill to stop the pregnancy hormone. the next morning I took meds for nausea & pain relief. then I took the abortion pill. about 3 hours later it kicked in. it was like a really bad period, with a lot of clotting. it was very heavy, and painful, but not unbearable. I found that heating pads on my stomach helped. the pain meds helped a lot too. it lasted for about 7-8 hours. after that I had period like bleeding for a few weeks.

You have up until you're 8 weeks pregnant to use the pill option. Any longer than 8 weeks then it actually has to be a surgical procedure.

It didn't work for me. I found out I was still pregnant and had to have a surgical abortion weeks later.
