I’m wanting to become a first time mother. I am trying to conceive however I am an addict. I went and got help from my addiction from pain meds and I have been taking suboxone for about a year. Anybody else have a story like this? Did you get pregnant? Was your baby okay? I’m so lost.

Hi, im an alcoholic and i ended up getting pregnant 10 years later, had a miscarriage 4 years ago and tried for years. But one night after a black out drunk night i got pregnant. Was single thru the whole thing but still 🤷🏽‍♀️. Piece of advice, make sure u stay sober while TTC. I slipped up and drank a few times during my pregnancy and had my baby at 36 weeks but thank god he was healthy and i got to take him home with me. Now battling PPD and alcoholism, i will say, I definitely don’t regret my kids but would be alot easier if i wasnt an addict

I am currently pregnant, and also an addict in recovery! While pregnant, your doctor will prescribe you subutex which doesn’t have the naloxone in it. The naloxone is what’s most addictive. Not sure how it is in your state, but in Virginia, they keep you and the baby in the hospital for 5 days just to monitor for withdrawal but almost all babies are perfectly fine! It’s very likely that you will receive a lot of judgement, but you are doing what is best for you and your future baby!! Don’t let anyone knock you down!
