Annoyed. Daughter not “affectionate” enough for my MIL.

My niece is 8 weeks older than my daughter and they share a grandmother, our mother in law. They both started walking at the same time, but my niece prefers to walk around while holding hands, which my MIL LOVES. My daughter, on the other hand, prefers to walk independently. It might be an age thing, it might be her personality, but who cares, right? If she wants to walk alone, let her! Well my mother in law, after several attempts of holding my daughter’s hand while walking outside, threw her hands up and says ‘well I guess she’s just not an affectionate baby!’ 😡🤬🤯 Am I right in taking total offense to this!? I feel in essence she’s comparing her two granddaughters and I am just infuriated over this. My husband says I’m nuts for even thinking twice about it. I can’t be the only one who would get mad about this, right?
