Low maintenance short hair..?

Is there such a thing as a low maintenance short haircut?? I had my daughter 7 weeks ago and now I constantly have my hair in a ponytail or a bun so she can’t yank on it and it doesn’t get spit up in it. I hate wearing my hair up, it gives me headaches and makes me feel unattractive. I’m considering going short, but I know there’s no way I’m going to be able to fix it every day or get it cut super often. Any ideas? I would like to be able to keep letting it air dry and it not look like a wild mess lol. I am not interested in a pixie though, I know I will want to grow it long again at some point and there’s no way I will be able to handle all the awkward phases. I tried to add a photo of me now but it zoomed in weird and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it...
