How are you announcing & when?

My family isn’t very emotional so I kinda don’t want to surprise them and would rather just send a text maybe with a cute generic photo. Any ideas? We will be doing a few surprises for his family.

My mum walked into my house just after I took the test and knew there was something. So I made an order form with a picture of a cot (my dads a joiner) and wrote a note on it saying Grandad can you give the cot a clean up for me arriving in March please. My family is not very emotional so was a chuffed well done congratulations kinda thing. 
For my partners parents I made a grandparents starter kit with - dummy, scratch mits, baby grow, blanket, towel and a letter that explained how baby was growing and how it couldn’t wait to meet them. Gave it to his dad on his birthday and there were tears of delight and lots of cuddles. We’re now 8wks 4 days waiting on the ultrasound to tell everyone Els for my friends I’ve filled a baby bottle with sweets and will attach a sign saying only best friends get promoted to aunties. 
For his sisters I’m getting a aunt survival gift (amazon) for my little brother I’m getting a coaster that says only the best brothers get promoted to uncle. For my big brother he has a little girl I’ve ordered her a tshirt that say ‘I’m going to be a big cousin’ for my granny I’ve got some wool and going to get a baby pattern for a blanket. For work I’m getting a box of doughnuts and attaching a card that says eat up my mummy doesn’t want to be the only one with a belly baby Mackie due March 2019
And we’re still thinking on how to tell his grandparents 😊 I like looking on Pinterest for different ideas

We are waiting till the 3 month mark just to be safe! His family isn’t super emotional either but I’m still wanting to do little surprises. His dad has said in the past he wants to be call “chief” so I bought a Indian headdress to give him to figure it out. My granddad is a huge soccer fan so I’m getting a onesie from his favorite team. I’m doing stuff like that for different people, based off their favorite stuff and going with that theme.

I’d like to see some ideas as well! I did find a way for telling my husbands parents though. I bought a little book on Amazon called “On the Night you Were Born” and I’m going to write a sweet message to them “from baby” on the cover page. Something like, “Dear grandma and grandma, Please read this to me next March. I can’t wait to meet you. Love, Baby L”

My parents live several states away. So I plan on sending them (and my sisters) these with something else. My parents will get a sign that says the best parents get promoted to grandparents. And my sisters will both get a onesie that says “if you think I’m cute you should see my aunt”. 
I’m waiting til after the first scan to send stuff tho. It’s killing me not to tell my mom.
