Period?

How likely is it that I got my period today? My baby girl is 5 and a half weeks old, I had a C section. I've only had really light bleeding which had pretty much stopped, then yesterday I started to get heavier bleeding which looks like a period. I am breast feeding though, so worried it could be internal stitches coming undone? had a few pains but feel like period pains!

Just had my 6 week appointment today and I had the same thing happen, my mid wife said it’s very common to have two separate phases of postpartum bleeding. The first last from week 1-3 and the second usually starts 5-6 weeks and it’s normal to stop bleeding somewhere in there and start again. I had a csection too. If your stitches came undone you’d know- you’d soak through more than a pad an hour and have extreme pain, extremely tender scar site, and bright red blood (what my nurses said to watch for). It could be your period but it’s SUPER unlikely.

Apparently breastfeeding doesnt mean you won't get your period. I got mine back before my baby was even a month old 🙈

My friend did get her period around that time while breastfeeding. It’s rare, but possible.
