Whose stays at home?

Sooo I know there is a lot of debate over this topic when I hear woman talk about it. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinion. In my marriage we both work for financial reasons. I know in my siblings marriage, my brother works and his wife stays home. My cousin is complete opposite she wants to work so her husband stays home. What about everyone else?🙃

Before we had kids we both worked. I actually worked full time and part time. I had my son and upon returning from maternity leave I found out from my students' parents that my full time class was going down to half days. So the decision was made behind my back and parents were already notified before me. I quit the next day. I wouldn't have been making enough to send my son to daycare and pay other bills. I still work my part time job though.  So I'm home with my son and soon daughter (due in October) during the day while my husband works early mornings to afternoon and I then work nights/weekends. It wasn't something we planned but it works.

Right now I stay home/focus on college. In a couple of years I'll have my degree and be an RN and I'll be working again. My daughter will also be in PreK or Kindergarten by then, so it really works out for us.

I'm so grateful to be able to stay home. it's not easy and if we had no kids and both worked, we'd be living a much more relaxed lifestyle. we're on a tight budget and "fun stuff" has to be planned a few paychecks in advance. we've paid off a few debts completely which has helped lighten the financial load. but we also wouldn't be able to afford full time daycare for even our first born (and now #2 on the way) even if I went back full time.      I went back part time at 10w pp and everyone was miserable so I quit 2 months later. life was good again annnd then work called me out of the blue and asked if I could come back at all, even a tiny bit. I kept them oon the edge of their seats for a week and then came back with my demands. 25% raise and 9-12hr/wk max. they agreed and I wnt back again. we weren't quite as miserable as a family but it still wasn't great. I quit again in April and we've had s pretty awesome summer so far.

hubby and I get to see each other more. he can be more relaxed than stressed when he spends time with her. and I can take it easy during this last pregnancy.    I used to teach in the infant rooms at a daycare so part of the struggle for me wss just being used to spending all day with the kids I was raising. it felt so unnatural to me not to be able to spend the whole day with my own!

like I said, it's not always easy for us (especially financially) but it's worth it for our family. props to all the working moms! you're so strong! 👏👏👏

I stay home and my husband works. I own an Education Consulting Business and I run it from our home. I get the best of both worlds. I am so grateful I get to stay home with my baby girl and experience all of her milestones while continuing my career as an educator. Before I gave birth, I was an elementary teacher, but when I was about 36 or 37 weeks pregnant, my husband and I had a long discussion. We decided it would be best if I resigned and stayed home with our daughter. We just could not stand the idea of leaving our baby girl with a nanny. I would have missed out on so much if I had returned to my job as a teacher. Staying home with her allows me to experience everything as opposed to a nanny showing me a picture or a video of my daughter doing something new. She is nine months and is changing everyday, I just could not imagine missing out on that. However after a few months, I started to miss education. So I started my education consulting business. I absolutely love my business and it has picked up so much in such a short amount of time (Praises to God). My favorite part of being self-employed is being able to stay home with my baby girl. Being with her all day has definitely made my breastfeeding and pumping journey easier. There is no way I would have been able to have a good nursing and pumping schedule if I had returned to work. Being a WAHM also allows us to travel with my husband. He is a college football coach and travels a lot, especially in the fall. Baby girl and I plan to be at every away game. I also love the freedom I have. My daughter and I can have mother/daughter dates without me having to take off work. I absolutely love being a WAHM. As for finances, my husband makes a lot of money (six figures) so we did not have to budget anything when I was without an income. My salary as a teacher was more like an allowance in our household. Now with me running my education consulting business, I make way more sitting at home than I did going to a job everyday. I still do not make as much as my husband, but it's great money. So we are just fine financially, better than we were. I still miss being a teacher from time to time, but I cannot leave my daughter plus my business is so successful right now. Within the next few years, I plan for my company to be one of the top (if not the top) education consulting company in the state and I will be working on becoming one of the top in the country.

Ours is unique. We both work. But he also stays home. 
When I found out I was pregnant in 2015 he got an interview and accepted a position that was second shift and working from home. So my husband watches our daughter all day and starts work at 3. I get home by 5 and she’s all mine (though he helps while I cook dinner). I take night duty so he can sleep since he gets off close to midnight. I get up at 6:30 and he’s back on when she wakes up. Which might be right then or 8:30. What makes it work is that his job is super easy and he doesn’t do much actual work.

If I made more money than him I would work and he would stay home. But he makes more, so I stay home.

I’m an Esthetician and he’s a tattoo artist. 
After this baby, I will stay home for a few weeks and then head back to work. Financially, it wouldn’t be idea for us to have one or the other stay home.

We talked about my husband staying home & me working, because I actually made a lot more money, but in the end I wanted to stay home , so he works
