When did you let your baby cry it out ??

People has said if you leave your baby in the crib and let them cry it out, it’ll help them to understand that it’s bed time ...
Some people tell me it’s bad for them..
So what is it ????

My doctor said to let Them cry it out.. the sleep training says the same thing... i don’t do it but I’m just saying what my doctor told me .. idk

We don’t believe in crying it out. It makes absolutely no logical sense. Going to sleep on their own is a developmental skill. Just like learning to crawl, walk, or even talk.

The experts are split on the matter. But most experts can agree that if you do the cry it out method, you should go back to check on them (first after a few minutes, then a few minutes longer each time).  So maybe let baby cry for five minutes, then go check on them and then let baby cry for ten minutes, then go check on them... etc.

I let my son cry it out but he would only cry for maybe 2 minutes. But now when it’s bedtime i can put him in his toddler bed and he will roll around or grab his stuffed animal and cuddle it. But he doesn’t cry now. He just goes to sleep on his own. It’s so nice.

Never. Yes it is bad for them and goes completely against nature. No other animals ignore their babies when they cry. There is plenty of research to back this up. You’ll get “I did and my baby is fine” comments but 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️

It’s more so for them to learn to self sooth rather than teaching them it’s bedtime. Everyone has a different opinion on this though. I’m half and half on it. 
Don’t listen to people who say “don’t do it”. Do the research and determine how YOU feel about it and don’t let anyone make you feel bad for your decision.

I had to do cry it out. It’s awful but was definitely worth it in my case! If I didn’t follow through, I’m sure I’d still be waking 5x a night!

It’s really all about trial an error. Letting them cry it out teaches soothing techniques, but also it helps them understand cooping.
