Hispanic grandma and her beliefs about a special diet after c section.

Hey everyone. so I've had 2 c sections. I'm currently 8 weeks pp with repeat c section. My grandma believes that after a major surgery a girl's gotta be on a special diet to avoid any infections or complications after a cesarean. Meaning NO anything but chicken or beef meat. With my 1st i listened to her and followed her directions. Didn't eat anything but chicken and beef meat (cesina) till about 4/6 months pp. Just last sunday i met my mother in law's friend who had 2 c sections. She mentioned she ate everything after her c sections and she never had any sort of complications! so since im 8 weeks pp already im trying to get back to my normal eating habits but I'm afraid bcus with 1st c section i did all my grandma said and ate all she said according to her timeline... i never had an issue with my outside scar or inside cut. So ik its ridiculous and yes we are mexican. Im here to ask how many of you didn't follow any sort of special diet and had NO COMPLICATIONS what so ever with healing after your cesarean??? Being a little more specific into what my grandma thinks its bad, would definitely be pork meat. Bananas. Corn torillas. Eggs. Chile (Spicy things, salsas) Sour cream. Soda. Pineapples. Beans. Burgers. Pizza. Fried things. Watermelons. Tomatos. Basically everything lmao. but i think her concerns were also with foods giving me gas pain... but mainly according to her infection(s) wise was/is the main thing for this diet thinggggggg!😐

I was eating McDonald’s later that day after my c-section.Only thing my Hispanic family will tell me is not to eat beans and pork.beans because the gas pain and if breastfeeding the baby gets colic.Pork I have no idea why.But you eat whatever your body can handle.as long as it can handle eat what you feel like eating!

I had gestational diabetes during pregnancy and had to get a c section. My mother is also very Mexican old fashioned michoacana! I had to eat by her rules and thing that would help heal faster! 1week aftr my c section I was up and away! Felt fine Nd although I was very skeptical about her traditions I still followed them. I healed properly and very quickly

me. I didn't follow a special c section diet and both my incisions healed very well with no infections.

I ate whatever I wanted. My only healing issue was not keeping it dry properly

Lol I was eating Wendy's cheeseburgers the day of my csection. I kind of went on a junk food binge because I had gestational diabetes and had to eat healthy most of my pregnancy and my scar and healing process went well.

I'm mexican too and I know how moms and grandmas get lol, after a major surgery it's always a good idea to avoid fatty foods and any type of food that could cause constipation or slow things down, I was sooo afraid of getting constipated after the c section that I did stick to caldo de pollo and lots of fruits and veggies, but if you are already 8 weeks pp, I don't think there should any problem to go back to your normal diet.
