Is it weird??

I have a question, is it weird to ask a man to marry you? I know it’s supposed to be the other way around, and we haven’t been together very long but we have known each other since we were 12 so I’m just wondering if anyone has ever asked there boyfriend to marry them and how it went, if it’s weird and how would you go about it anyway

I don’t think it’s weird at all. What’s weird to me is when a woman wants to get engaged and just waits and waits for no reason. My husband officially proposed but we decided together to save for a ring and we went together and picked it out. Sure it wasn’t a huge surprise but non of that matters now. We are married.

An old school friend of mine was with her man for over 10 years and had a 8-9 year old daughter, when she asked him to marry her. He said yes, they fell pregnant with their second baby and then he left her. 
When she first proposed I was telling my partner about it and he said ‘Don’t you ever do that hey?!!! I don’t want you to take that away from me. 
I said ‘I would prefer to be the one getting proposed to AND we’ve only been together for 2 months so I’m not thinking about marriage just yet. Hahaha’ 
He said ‘I just think it’s a mans job to propose.............. and it’s a woman’s job to be patient’ 
I have never laughed so hard in my life. It’s like he thought I was expecting a proposal within a couple of months of being together. It was so funny. 
But I think you need to do what you think is right for you. But just remember that some men might not want to be proposed to.

I don’t see an issue with it, but you still need to talk about marriage and future before you do it, so you are on the same page, especially since you haven’t been together very long. It doesn’t matter that you’ve known each other for much longer, the dynamic of your relationship is now different and a new phase. 
I remember once talking to my husband about it and he said he would hate it if he didn’t get to propose. He said we get all the other stuff, being pregnant, birthing the kids etc, let him have his one thing, the proposal. I also enjoyed being proposed to. 
I got my chance to have a big moment when I got to announce our first pregnancy. 
You can do whatever feels right for your relationship, but I do think you need a bit more time together before leaping into something a bit more legally permanent.

I wouldn’t personally want to do it, but I’m sure it works for some people. I would just be cautious about doing it too soon in the relationship - make sure he’s on the same page as you with wanting a future together etc.

I dont think its weird, but I would casually bring up the subject and see how he reacts. there was just a post about this earlier dont know if it was you but I personally think its pretty cool. like why not!? we women want to be equal right? good luck!! 💍

it's not weird but in some traditions the men feel it's their priority, I would be my husband all the time before we got married if he would and he always said no lol then he went to my mom and my grandma and asked them for my hand in marriage months after some times men don't like the women doing it cause to them it's their job to ask but it's not weird all couples are different as long as you get married that's all that matters
