Breast pumps?

I will be a stay at home mom but would like to pump to help if I’m ever away from baby or so my husband can give me a break to shower or whatever. Any suggestions, comments, tips, tricks, etc. is appreciated!

I'm a SAHM (or WAHM) and I have the Medela Sonata Smart Pump. I was able to get it through my husband's insurance for free so please check with your insurance company if you haven't already. I love the Sonata!!! I mainly nursed her in the beginning, but I did pump so my husband can feed her when he get home from work, when I go out to enjoy pamper time (mani/pedi, hair appointment, eyebrow waxing, massage, etc.). I also pump to have milk for her when out and about. The The number one tip is to stay hydrated, this is important for both nursing and pumping because it helps with milk production. Number two is to stick to baby's schedule while pumping, anytime your baby receives a bottle in the place of a feeding, PUMP to replace that feeding. I produce more milk early in the mornings, which I have heard other moms says as well so try to figure out when you produce the most milk and pump during that time. Get a hands-free pumping bra. Please keep your pump and pump accessories sanitized. Get a (or a few) breast milk storage sets. My little princess only latches early in the morning and at night now (thank God for a good freezer stash) so I have to pump a lot and this pump does a great job of getting the milk out. My daughter is nine months now, but she is still breastfed (along with solids) and I am still loving this pump. Good luck mama 👍
