After I gave birth to my 2nd daughter i had my tubes tied. I am 23, my husband is 26, this was our 2nd kid. I was done having kids so I was having my tubes tied. This was a decision I made from the very beginning of my pregnancy.

Before my surgery the doctor who would be performing it came in to talk to me and be absolutely sure this is what I wanted. He went over how the procedure was done, possible complications, and then asked if i was sure. I told him I was. He then proceeded to tell me that “You are very young. Often times young marriages break up. If you do this you won’t be able to give your future husband kids if you get divorced. Are you really sure you want to go through with this?”

I said yes and had the surgery.

I have been really bothered by this since then.

What do you guys think? Were his questions going a bit too far, or were they perfectly acceptable?
