When is the best time to start dating?

So I’m 15 and starting my sophomore year in a few months. I always told myself I wasn’t going to date in high school, because honestly, most of the guys are jerks. But I can’t help but have a stupid crush on the cute ones. When’s the best time to start dating?

Date when you are actively looking for someone to marry and you are close to a time where that is a possibility. Longer relationships can make it harder to stay pure.

maybe cute but usually not worth it. i dated in high school and now look back and regret it what a huge waste of time. i wish i had been more into sports or music or something other than guys.

I say date whenever you want to. No age requirement. The only rule if you start dating young is to not neglect your other roles in life. Even if you’re someone’s girlfriend, don’t forget you’re also someone’s friend, teammate, daughter, sibling, etc. Don’t drop everything for your dude. 
I had a boyfriend from 10th grade until two years after college! No break ups, no breaks. Literally for 9 years. 
He didn’t end up progressing in life the way I’d hoped. He wasn’t really a bad guy, but he wasn’t a really good guy either. I was usually on the back burner while he was kinda selfish and not very driven. 
At 24 when we broke up, I was single but had a buddy for about a year who wasn’t my boyfriend but was around for the fun benefits of one haha. It worked out great until it didn’t. 
At 26 ish I dated a guy who turned out to be basically a con artist but I thought he was fabulous at the time. Looking back, tons of warning signs that I’d been ignoring. 
At 27, I met my husband. I’m 30 now, and we just got married in May! 
Anyway, it seems old to marry at 30, and it seems young to date at 15, but all of those young life experiences are what led me to learning what I looked for in a life partner. 
I say go for it. Learn what you’ll put up with. Learn what you admire in someone. Learn what the good things are that you bring to the table and learn how you can be an even better partner to someone than you were the day before. 
Most importantly, enjoy it! I’m so thankful I didn’t end up with my HS boyfriend because of his lack of ambition and lack of genuine care about my feelings, but I’m so thankful I learned more about myself at a young age.

I would wait until after high school. I saw so many of my friends living on an emotional roller coaster that I couldn’t bear to watch. Personally, I couldn’t convince myself to date because my love language is physical touch and I vowed to myself that I would wait until marriage. I ended up telling everyone at school that I’m a romantic asexual because I’m afraid of intimacy (it was a lie, but I figured it was the best way to stay safe). No one was interested in me after that and I was okay with it because I knew that the person I was meant to be with for the rest of my life would understand and respect my boundaries. As ancient as it may sound, I courted my husband. In my book, courting means to date with the intention to marry and I told everyone who was interested in me after high school that I would only date them if they planned to marry me in the future. That weeded out the crowd pretty fast and I eventually met my husband who had the same feelings about courtship after dating a few girls in high school. Don’t take this the wrong way, but in my opinion, people in general are too emotionally unstable before graduating from high school. All of those school years are meant for developing the mind and dating during that time is too stressful and can be damaging at a young age. However, I met a girl in high school who was dating a stable guy she met in her late junior year who had similar values to her and they have been happily married since shortly after graduation. Everyone is different, but this is just my two cents so take it how you want.

The chances of you marrying the person you start dating at 15 are pretty slim. Enjoy your teenage years, you don’t need boy drama. Think of all the fun you will have in college... I saw so many people change college plans for someone else they were dating and then ended up sitting.  If I could go back I wouldn’t of had boyfriend in high school 🤷🏻‍♀️ waste of my time. I should have spent those 4 years celebrating myself and being more proactive preparing for college.
