Hi ladies. I'm currently 30 + 2 Expecting a little boy! We are naming him Achilles Alexander. Just want your thoughts on our unique name choice! TIA xx

Maybe Alexander Achilles?

I like a lot of names from mythology, but not Achilles. Mainly because his big story is that he's pretty much invincible except for his ankles, which is because of a mistake his mom made. He dies because of a wound to his ankles, because of his mom's mistake. That's where we get the expression "Achilles heel" which refers to someone's biggest vulnerability. 
Anyway I wouldn't use it for my kid because the story is about his mom's mistake leading to him having a weak spot and dying. Plus he'd get so many jokes about his ankles and heels. 
I really like similar names Perseus, Odysseus, Apollo, Orpheus, Telamon

i wouldnt use it but if you like it then go ahead. if ours is a boy we are naming him after my fiances name he was born with in russia which is kritsky. it means alot to him because he was adopted at 3 years old and his name was changed to a more normal american name which doesnt bother him but he still wants to keep his heritage in the family which is fine with me i think its pretty neat
