I’m a FTM, and I’ve been so excited building baby registries over the last few months. It suddenly occurred to me that I may not even get a baby shower. My husband and I moved to a new city a year ago for his work, we are 6 hours away from our families (who are in opposite directions) and all of our closest friends have scattered across the country. So we’re kind of on our own. I just graduated from grad school in May, but no one wants to hire someone who will need to go on maternity leave within 6 months, so we’re currently limited to one income. Otherwise we’d be happy to buy everything ourselves. Would it be tacky for me to throw my own baby shower?
