MY FIT MOMMAS!

Zurisadai

Since I’ve been pregnant I haven’t really exercised like Im assuming I should and I know there shouldn’t be no excuse for it but it’s my first pregnancy and I would rather ask experienced mommas of what exercises they have done throughout their pregnancy and saw weight changes as well. My face has actually look a bit swollen and I’m assuming cause I’m not eating right as well so PLEASE!! I’m asking for opinions and feedback!!!

Guuuurl....I’m in the same boat! I can barely get myself to get up and go for a simple walk. It’s pathetic and I need to change!!

This is what I do, it may not be what’s right for you but it gives you an example.I go for a brisk 30 min walk 5x a week while pushing my two kids in a stroller.I do weighted or body weight strength training 4-5x per week. I personal,y do a split where I train different muscle groups each day but for most women a full body routine 2-3x a week is totally sufficient.I practice piston breathing with belly pumping daily.I should stretch daily but usually get to it 3-4x a week. There are days where I am not motivated to exercise but I know it gives me more energy, gives me a sense of accomplishment and 99% of the time I feel better afterwards.

I swam laps from 6-12 weeks pregnant. But I wasn't getting muscle fatigue afterwards or any sign my body was being challenged enough. I wanted to build muscle, not just burn calories & lose weight. I also started finding cellulite on my legs so that scared me into looking for muscle resistance instead.I switched to weightlifting and did that from 12-28 weeks until the AC broke at my gym. My hip ligaments & belly were also becoming more sore with my growing size, so I took a break.I then thought I'd just quit & ride out the rest of my pregnancy, but I started feeling crummier from being inactive. More sore, inflexible, quick to injury, tired. I also started gaining weight faster which was not good because my doc wanted me to stay between 25-30lbs and I was now at 27lbs at 33 weeks. That same week (33) I went back to swimming laps because I think weightlifting will be too hard on my belly & hip ligaments now. I swam Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday this week. And felt much better.

Also, I had prior history weightlifting at the gym so it wasn't new to me. Swimming laps I had done a few times the year before so I had a smidgen of experience. But yeah, with weightlifting I avoided certain dangerous lifts and I also did low weight/high rep (I used to do the opposite back in the day, but figured it'd be too dangerous pregnant).

Look up you tube videos and you can do them from home for free and maybe try one class or two for tips.

Prenatal yoga 🧘‍♀️ I do an hour everyday and it has done wonders for nausea, backache and energy 💕

I’ve been exercising but not as often or to the extent that I used to - I’m just so tired! I’m hoping second trimester will give me a little jolt to get in some exercise before I get too uncomfortable in the third
