Reg bike VS Balance bike

My son just turned 2 yrs old and I’ve been debating between buying a balance bike or a reg bicycle with training wheels. Anyone have personal experience with balance bikes? My son is super active. He loves to run, jump and basically doesn’t sit much. He’s 36” tall and weighs 26 lbs if that matters 🤷🏻‍♀️
