folic acid info

does anyone know if taking folic acid affects the period in anyway. I'm due for my period as of the 27th of July but I've started spotting very very lightly on the 26th, I have stopped spotting now on the 28th. Before my period comes the normal symptoms that I receive are sore breast and sore nipples. however, I did not feel any this time. The spotting is now gone. I did take a pregnancy test (£1 pregnancy test) but it came out with just one line. I wanted to know if anyone knows anything about Folic Acid causing periods to not show. (btw I was advised to take folic acid if trying to conceive) - TIA ❤
