What did you have? Did you regret it?

Question

Trying to decide between getting married at the courthouse soon, or planning a full wedding! 
I’ve seen courthouse marriages regret not having the full day. 
I’ve seen wedding marriages regret not having something intimate bc they weren’t able to enjoy their day fully!
Looking for your guys advice & real life experience!
What did you have? Did you love it? Regret it?

Doesn’t have to be one or the other. We had a wedding technically (we didn’t get married at a courthouse) but it was super small and intimate with only 10 guests. Immediate family and 1 mutual friend only. We hired an officiant, I got to walk down the aisle and wear a wedding dress, and then went out to dinner afterwards! Spent the whole night hanging out with family and enjoying being married. I loved it. Basically the wedding had everything I wanted and nothing that I didn’t want. It was perfect. 
I had a larger and very expensive wedding the first time I got married and although it was beautiful I definitely enjoyed my smaller second wedding way more. 
My only regret about my second wedding was not hiring a photographer.

We eloped and went to the Virgin Islands alone. Took whatever money we would of spent on a wedding and bought an investment property! No regrets at all!

So, I’ve married my husband twice. The first time we were real young and went to the court house. It was nothing. It was right after our son was born. 
The second time we eloped to Pigeon Forge. It was just us two and the pastor at the cutest little church ever. 
That day meant the absolutely world to me. 
So you don’t have to have a huge wedding for the world to see for it to seem special.

I vote courthouse-no regrets,  because it was closest to accurate,but we actually did a chapel. We had 9 guests, and rented a tiny chapel that was an old schoolhouse.  It was very basic, no decorating.  Had a very amateur photographer just so we had some photos of everyone because I told guests Not to take photos.  It was quick and cost about 300 bucks.  Afterward we went to dinner at a restaurant.  All in with our clothes, wedding rings, and dinner, etc we spent 1,200 bucks.  And for us it was perfect.

First of all, congrats! It’ll be such an exciting time for y’all regardless of what you decide! 
My hubby and I ended up eloping because we were struggling with the same decision; we couldn’t decide if we wanted something simple and intimate or something a little more extravagant. Eventually we just said screw it and off to Alaska we went. We don’t regret the decision at all...it was like our own little secret fairytale.

We were happy with our wedding but also wish we would've taken the cheap plane tickets offered to Vegas and eloped there. We were so concerned about brothers and sisters not being there, we could've bought them all tickets to come with for less than half of what we spent on our wedding!

we got married at the courthouse and then about 6 months later had the small ceremony we wanted. we wanted to be married but also wanted a summer wedding. it worked for us🤷‍♀️no regrets

Completely regret both my weddings. If I could do it again I'd have done court house or even a cheap destination wedding. The money that got spent was so not worth it. Didn't have hardly any time to spend with guests, most the guests never kept in contact after the wedding and kinda disappeared as friends.
