Tampons making me cramp?

I think my tampons might be giving me cramps but I don’t even know if that’s possible. I don’t usually get cramps this bad during my period but I’ve started wearing tampons more (I usually only wear pads). Is there a reason for this coincidence? Has anyone else noticed this?

This happened to me a lot when I first started using tampons. Your uterus is surrounded by muscle which contracts on your period. Shoving something into that sore muscle is like someone punching you in the arm that you've been exercising. I'd skip them for the first couple of days or take some painkillers... Wait for them to kick in, then insert a tampon. I always found that my cramps would happen when I'd first put it in, once it had settled there and wasn't as dry or cold, id feel the pain less

I don’t use tampons on my first day due to cramping. I just can’t have that inside with all that pain. Maybe try pads for a day or two
