Did anyone take Effexor for panic attacks and anxiety?

It’s day 2 for me how long does this pill to take to work so I can feel calm Ns not panic anymore

I take it it took a good three weeks to work.  I take it for anxiety,  panic attacks,  and depression.  But I have noticed that now that it's in my system I can't skip it or I'm more impulsive and hyper and if I miss it for several days I get super low.  It works really well just takes a while to get in your system don't give up on that medicine it really does work.

Any non-benzo based behavioral medication like that will take about a month or so  to start working or make a noticeable difference. Curious because I also deal with heavy anxiety & panic attacks, is it also an anti-depressant?? Or strictly anxiety? I’m also very curious to see how it works for you I’m in need of something as well since Xanax is next to impossible to get now even for people who NEED it

I take Effexor 100mg twice a day in addition to Lamictal XR 250mg daily.  Effexor is a SNRI (like a stronger antidepressant that can also help w anxiety bc of the norepinephrine inhibitor.)
Effexor, especially on its own takes the standard 4-6wks for effectiveness to show.  You must take it everyday at approximately the same time. Maybe when you brush your teeth in the am, for example.
Effexor will not STOP current panic and/or anxiety attacks.  I think of it like a “vitamin” I take all the time to stay healthy and a benzodiazepine (such as Xanax, Ativan, klonopin or Valium) as my “treatment” only when I am sick.
Effexor is notorious for headaches if you don’t remember to take it.  Stay well and stay sane!

I only have experience with xanex and Valium for panic attacks.  I know someone on Effexor but it’s a daily pill.  The xanex and Valium route are those single event pills when I have a crippling anxiety attack. Are you in anything “long term”, like an SSRI?  I suppose it depends how frequent your attacks are.  I just got Wellbutrin added to my “cocktail”, and I know it’ll take at least a week to get into my system.
